Obituary for Richard J Klein

Richard J  Klein
Richard J. (Dick) Klein of Southampton Township passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills, NJ. He was 85. Richard was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and was a 1950 graduate of Central Catholic High. Richard served his country in the US AIRFORCE during the Korean War, where he earned the National Defense Service Award and the Good Conduct Medal.Richard was a longtime resident of Presidential Lakes in Browns Mills, before moving to Southampton 4 years ago. He was very active in the Pemberton Baseball program both as a coach and as commissioner of the league. Richard worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for RCA, retiring after 30 plus years of service.

Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Veronica (née-Prendergast); eight children: Debra Pinardo (John), John Klein (Emily), Linda Wells (Donald), Theresa Cole (Edward), Richard L. Klein, Caroline Strong, David Klein (Joanie) and James Klein; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Judy Cobb ( Henry), and was preceded in death by his sister Rosemary Houser. Richard will be sorely missed by his sisters-in-laws Theresa Chrostowski and Joan Buckley, along with his many other sisters and brothers-in-laws, and his 22 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday, September 15th, at Sacred Heart Church, 260 High St., Mt. Holly, from 10AM-12PM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12PM. Interment will follow the mass at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle's Veterans Cemetery with military honors in Arneytown.Due to the cemetery's restriction on flowers, donations may be made in memory of Richard to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
