Desiree Pearl Johnson, age 44, of Fairview Heights, IL, formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ passed away Wednesday, November 5 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden. She was born in the Bronx, NY.
Desiree recently retired as a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force after serving 24 years, recently at McGuire AFB. She was a member of the Word of Life Christian Center in Springfield Twp. Desiree volunteered much of her time to the American Red Cross and also to Habitat for Humanity.
Desiree is survived by her children, Ste’Phan James of Fairview Heights, IL and Amirah James of Riverdale, NY; her mother, Judith Irby of the Bronx, NY; eight siblings, Robert Irby of Maryland, Pelops Irby of the Bronx, Jonathan Irving Irby of Pennsylvania, Jackie Irby, Joshua Irby, Jason Irby and Venus Irby all of the Bronx and April Irby of Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Desiree will be held on Friday, November 14 at 3:00 PM at the Word of Life Christian Center, 2840 Monmouth Road (Route 537), Springfield Township, NJ 08041 with Rev. Shawna M. Adams officiating. Calling hours will be on Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lee Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
