Obituary for Donald W "Tall Pine" Taylor

Donald W. (Tall Pine) Taylor of Browns MIlls, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Virtua Samaritan Hospice, Mt. Holly, NJ, surrounded by family.
He was 78.
Don was born in Mt. Holly, NJ and was the son of the late Harry H. and Mary S. (Ellis) Taylor.
He was also preceded in death by his son Greg M. (Topsy) Taylor in 2002.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia (White) Taylor; his brother Harry Lee (Stuart) Taylor; brother in law Roland C. White; his children, Donna and Sam Shinn, Wayne and Ann (Simpkins) Taylor, Tracy Taylor, daughter in law Denise (Zane) Taylor and fiance Alan Ducsai; grandchildren, Sam Shinn and fiance Khristylynn Kitson, Donald Shinn, Jerry, Matthew, Benjamin and Sean Taylor, John Earlin Jr, Chelsi Earlin, Bobbie (Pippin) and Brad Arnwine, Jessie (Pippin) and Kyle Winzer, Travis Pippin and fiancee Rebecca Schmelia, Wyatt Taylor; great-grandchildren, Breelyn and Aubrey Arnwine, Elliot Winzer; and many cousins,nieces, nephews and friends.
Don was a 1958 graduate of Pemberton High School. He served in the Marine Corps and reserves. After working for Bernie Paetzold, he accepted a job with the State of NJ, retiring from the New Lisbon Developmental Center after 33-½ years of dedicated service as crew supervisor in the Plumbing Shop. In the 1970’s, he coached his sons in Pemberton Little League and PAL Football. In the 1980’s, he was a member of the Street Stocker Race Club - #50 - raced at New Egypt Speedway and Wall Stadium. Don was a lifetime member of the BBB Hunting Club, member of Pemberton Moose, NRA and an avid NASCAR fan, enjoying years in the woods with friends and family and travelling the region watching the races. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, NASCAR, camping, woods riding, picking up the trash of others to keep his woods clean, attending ECEA Enduro events.
Per his request, there will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to: Alzheimer’s Association - Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA, 19106 or to a charity of their choice.
