Obituary for Mary B Riker
Mary Beth Riker, 67, of Southampton, passed away after a battle with cancer on Friday, June 14, 2019, at Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly.
She was born on December 23, 1951, the third child of Francis and Winifred Farley Finnerty in Jersey City. She married Danny Wayne Riker on March 17, 1984 in Crescent Heights, Southampton.
She spent most of her career in healthcare, most recently as a home health aide. She studied at Burlington County Vocational School and was licensed for nursing in 1983. She enjoyed music, crocheting, reading, and spending time with many lifelong friends and family. Her compassion, sharp wit, and strong will made her a pleasure to be around. Her patience and empathy guided so much of what she did, as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and nurse. She found her greatest joy in raising her two beloved children.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Danny, her children, Jason Riker and Stacie Riker, her siblings, Ellen Brown of Mount Holly, James Finnerty of Damascus, MD, Brian (Denise) Finnerty of Sarasota, FL, Rita Finnerty of Pemberton, as well as many loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert, and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm and Friday, June 21, at 10 to 11 am at Lee Funeral Home, 317 High St in Mt Holly. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday, June 21, and burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton. As an option, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of your choosing. Email condolences to the family at leefuneralservice.com.
