Mariko Tabone

I am so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I am Mariko Tabone a nurse at the cardiac rehab at Virtua. I had the privilege of knowing him after he had a heart attack in his early years. He was such a kind and caring man. He was so excited to tell me about his special friend he met while joining the bird watching group. I was so happy he met someone to share his life with.He was such a special person wanting to help others with heart disease. He would volunteer to collect money for the American Heart Association. He always collected over $500 each year. He did that for many years walking with me at the Heart Walk.
I have now been retired for the last 3 years and have lost touch with the many patients I had worked with. I remember that he always had a fighting spirit to deal with his disease. Toward the end other organs started to fail and I was saddened to hear he was on dialysis.
To his wife, may God give you the strength in the coming days . May you remember all the good memories.
Mariko Tabone
