Obituary for Charlette E Rogers

Charlette E. Rogers

March 18, 1940 – December 17, 2020

Beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Charlette Rogers of Willingboro, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

A long time resident of Willingboro, Charlette was born and raised in Smithfield, VA. Charlette graduated from Isle of Wight County High School and served in the United States Air Force and for many years worked at Best Products. Charlette was a loving mother who used to enjoy bowling, listening to music, travelling but most of all spending time with her family. As a young mother she excelled at cooking, sewing and teaching her children various crafts and sharing funny stories from her childhood. She encouraged her children to read and to always strive to be their best. As her children grew into adulthood she never hesitated to allow their friends into her home for celebrations or family gatherings. As a doting grandmother she could be heard singing silly songs she made up to her grandchildren when they were young.

Charlette was resilient, strong and full of faith and never let life’s challenges defeat her. When you asked her how she was doing she most likely would respond with, “ I’m fine”. She defied the odds and challenges life presented her and ran her race until she felt her work here on earth was completed.

Charlette was preceded in death by her parents (Charles and Catherine) and her loving husband (Jesse). Charlette leaves to cherish her memory her siblings Margaret Grandison, Cathy Brown (Morris) and Denise Wynn (Russell). Her children Greg (Jeanetta), Michelle (Jeff), Daphne, Donna and Roger (Tracy). Her grandchildren, Rodell, Christina, Nicholas, Jennifer, Jessica, Alanna and Alexis. As well as a myriad of nieces, nephews and great grand-children.

In lieu of a homegoing service a memorial service to celebrate Charlette’s life will be planned for March 2021.
