George Joseph Leamon, Sr. of Wrightstown, NJ passed away Tuesday August 30, 2022, at Arista Care in Whiting, NJ, at the age of 95. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa and had previously been a longtime Tabernacle/ Southampton, NJ resident before moving to Wrightstown, NJ. George had worked and retired from Super Fresh Markets in the maintenance department. He later drove for Napa Auto Parts in Moorestown for 8 years. George loved to play tennis, watching WWE wrestling and listening to music. He was known at Arista Care Nursing Home as the “music man.” Every day at 2PM he would have a following to listen to his music of the day.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erna Leamon, his son George Leamon Jr., his daughter Diane Leamon, his grandson Louis Buonacore and his longtime companion Julie Stone. George is survived by his three children: Eleanore Searles, Cecilia Leamon and Gregory Leamon; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and his great-great granddaughter.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday September 7th at 11AM at the LEE FUNERAL HOME, 317 High St., Mt. Holly. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family Wednesday morning from 10:30AM-11AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in ODD FELLOWS’ CEMETERY, Rt. 130, Burlington, NJ.
