Obituary for Marvin D "Dave" Taylor

Marvin ”Dave” Taylor of Browns Mills passed away April 5, 2023 at Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly, New Jersey, at the age of 76. He proudly served 6 years in US NAVY (amphibious force) as an engineman on USS MONTRAIL and continued in USARMY (reserve) for 4 years. He retired from Ft. Dix military base as a heavy equipment operator. Dave traveled the world in the Navy, the country as a truck driver and most recently enjoyed commuting between his retirement home in Holden Beach, NC and the home which he personally built over the years in NJ, which became the family’s gathering place for holidays and special occasions.

He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Erma (Marie) Taylor, and his brother Miles Taylor. David is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Penny Taylor (nee-Peters); His three daughters: Dawn Taylor, Davina, Deusinger (Mike) and Devona Taylor grandchildren: Chris & Matt, Mike & David, Peighton & Willow; great grandchildren: Everlee, Maddox and one on the way in August. Dave is also survived by his sister Paula and brother, Paul “Maverick”, in-laws: Ben & Mimi, Terry & Sue and Pam and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends he cherished as family.

Keeping to Dave’s wishes there will be no services at this time. He will be interred in Brig. General William C. Doyle’s Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown on April 20th at 11:30am.
