The Storyteller

It was over ten years ago Dad, when I walked in and sat down on your couch for the very first time. You enjoyed telling me these long, but very interesting stories about your life, keeping me on the edge of my seat, in total fascination. Suddenly, you would stop talking, leaving me to sit there, amazed and confused. I would be wondering how such a thing could ever happen, and I'd search your face for answers, just waiting for something to make sense... "It never happened," you'd say, staring back at me, and then we'd start laughing, after you knew I had realized the joke was on me. Dad, you could pretty much count on me to enjoy both true and prank stories every time. I loved them all, even when you joked that I was a blond or a deer in headlights. Thank you for being "The Storyteller." For teaching me to lighten up about life and to make the time for a good laugh. Therefore, wherever a T.V. plays, the Storyteller will be right there, in his chair. Remembering you with much love and peace in my heart, Cheri Hensley Daughter-in-Law June 18, 2018.
